Teacher is my Cyber Bestie...
So off of what my buddy Steve mentioned as far as professionalism and student relationships...how do we feel about the idea of teachers and other school staff forming technological "friendships" with students? Is this inappropriate? The obvious answer would be"...uhhh, YES!" But with such a large amount of our interaction being done online, can we avoid it? Also, isn't it possible that student can find their teachers and still keep track of their outside lives even if the aren't "friends" or followers"...and what about the possibility of "student friendly" or "professional accounts"? I know that with experience as an actor, we have professional social media pages as well as person...could that work with school and where does a school leader fall in making sure lines are not blurred in their school environment? As long as no illegal activity is present, can a leader really have an opinion on student/faculty online relationships? Interesting and touchy area....
